Excavators typically ship on flat racks due to their height and weight. The boom is lowered and pinned, the bucket is removed and secured separately, and the tracks are chocked with heavy timber blocking to prevent movement during ocean transit. We use grade-70 transport chains with load binders at all four corners, and position the machine to distribute weight evenly across the flat rack. All hydraulic lines are capped, batteries disconnected, and fluids drained per IMDG code requirements.
Depending on size, weight, and destination, your excavator may ship in one of these container types. We choose the most cost-effective option for every shipment.
