Four John Deere Implements - Weight-Limited Container Plan
2015 case study: four John Deere implements, just over 20 metric tons, loaded to a planned container weight limit and routed via New York and Haifa to Odesa.
A three-person Meridian crew spent four days disassembling and preparing the equipment at the company's packing facility. The cargo required a deliberate loading sequence. Heavy cultivator and harrow frames could not be placed against the seed drill without risking damage to its more fragile assemblies. The team planned the position of each frame and component so the load remained stable while using the available container space. The equipment itself weighed slightly more than 20 metric tons, close to the planned cargo-weight limit for this container. A routine loading approach was therefore unsuitable: both weight distribution and separation between heavy and vulnerable components had to be controlled throughout the operation. Meridian completed the packing and delivered the sealed container to Chicago. The onward route continued through New York and Haifa to Odesa without reported delay, damage or route change.
