Kenya checks a used tractor's conformity at origin: KEBS Route A runs its inspection in the country the machine ships from, before it sails for Mombasa. That's where we already work. We import US farm tractors to Kenya; we don't sell them or hold stock. Our check and the conformity step share one origin window, before you pay.
Meridian runs the US leg end to end. The KRA entry, classification and Kenya-side costs sit with your licensed agent, as does the conformity certificate at clearance.
Process

Share the listing, or the horsepower range and implements you're after, and we shortlist units from the US dealer and auction network.
We check condition, hours and completeness, and the KEBS conformity inspection is coordinated in the same pre-shipment window. Soil and plant debris come off before loading.
Export documentation, the USDA APHIS phytosanitary certificate where required, and ocean freight to Mombasa sized to the tractor.
Your entry is filed with the KRA by a licensed clearing agent, who takes the tractor through Mombasa clearance and settles the final figures for your unit.

Local compliance
Kenya-side figures are confirmed in Kenya. A licensed Kenyan clearing agent confirms the exact duty line and used-age admissibility for your specific tractor against the current Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) tariff before you commit funds. Imports must meet Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) requirements under the PVoC program: Route A verifies conformity by inspection in the country of origin, and a Certificate of Conformity is required to clear. A roughly 8-year age limit applies to some vehicle categories, and import VAT and other charges may apply.
