Used farm tractors from the USA · Australia
A low-hour tractor from a US auction can land in Australia for less than the local used price — but only if it passes biosecurity. We clean every machine to the DAFF standard and inspect it at origin, and for sailings from September to April we arrange offshore stink bug treatment. We import tractors; we don't sell them. You compare the landed cost, we clear it through customs.
Meridian owns sourcing, origin cleaning and inspection, BMSB treatment, export documents and freight. Your licensed Australian broker owns the customs entry, tariff classification and GST.
Process
The route to Australia is planned around biosecurity, because that's what stops a machine at the wharf. We confirm the tractor, clean and inspect it at origin, treat it when the season calls for it, then ship with clearance arranged.
A listing link or the make, model, year, hours and US location, or the horsepower class and implements you're after so we can shortlist from the dealer and auction network.
We verify condition, hours and completeness, and clean the machine of soil, seeds and plant material to the DAFF standard, with photo evidence. Getting this right at origin is what keeps it off the re-export list.
For sailings from 1 September to 30 April we arrange offshore brown marmorated stink bug treatment by an approved provider, plus export documents, and book the sailing to Australia.
A licensed Australian broker files the entry and clears the tractor. Agricultural tractors are generally duty-free; 10% GST is paid at import and is creditable for GST-registered businesses.
Scope
We separate the international leg we control from the local costs and formalities your despachante confirms.

Send what you know and we build the landed-cost picture around a real machine — sourcing, biosecurity and the leg to your arrival port.
Share the machine and the destination; we send back the scope of the international leg in writing.
Local compliance
The US side is ours; the Australian figures are confirmed in Australia. A licensed Australian customs broker confirms the tariff line and GST for your specific tractor per shipment — agricultural tractors are generally free of import duty, with 10% GST payable on the landed value and creditable for GST-registered businesses. Every machine must meet the DAFF cleanliness standard, and US-origin cargo shipped 1 September–30 April requires offshore BMSB treatment before arrival. Western Australia adds a state-level DPIRD inspection.
Meridian has coordinated more than 1,000 exports to more than 40 countries.
