Two John Deere S670 Combines - One Extended Rail Platform

A standard Georgian rail platform could not carry both combines together. After their ocean arrival in Poti, Meridian located a scarce extended platform and arranged the two machines on the same rail unit; the large wheels traveled separately. The two combines were shipped by Flat Rack, and the documented outcome was a reduction of several thousand dollars.

The shipment

A standard Georgian rail platform could not carry both combines together. Meridian located a scarce extended platform and arranged the two machines on the same rail unit after their ocean arrival in Poti. The large wheels did not fit with the combines and traveled separately. Before allocating the separate wheel-transport cost, the single-platform design produced estimated gross savings of approximately $8,000-$9,000 compared with two standard platforms. Because the wheel cost served several consolidated machines, the precise net saving cannot be isolated. The documented outcome was still a reduction of several thousand dollars. The two combines were shipped by Flat Rack.
