John Deere 9320 - Custom Rail System for Container Loading

In 2015 Meridian Freight bought a John Deere 9320 tractor at auction in Minnesota and moved it to the packing facility. Its dimensions and weight made conventional container placement impractical, so the team disassembled the machine and fabricated a steel rail system to guide, position and secure it inside the container. Meridian then coordinated shipment to Novorossiysk.

The shipment

Meridian purchased the tractor at auction in Minnesota and moved it to the packing facility. Its dimensions and weight made conventional container placement impractical. The team disassembled the machine and fabricated a steel rail system to guide, position and secure it inside the container. The custom structure enabled controlled loading while supporting the tractor for the ocean voyage. Meridian coordinated shipment to Novorossiysk, where the tractor was cleared and released. It was later acquired by a farm in Primorsky Krai and moved approximately 9,000 kilometers across Russia by rail; the customer reported that the tractor remained in service.
