The dealer purchased the principal equipment and parts; Meridian handled the inbound movement and the complete consolidation plan. The shipment combined delicate plastic components with heavy steel toolbars and machinery sections. The far end of the container was reserved for vulnerable plastic parts. Dense steel components were placed nearer the center for balance, while lighter packages, fastener boxes and Precision Planting cartons were positioned toward the doors. The single 40-foot High Cube also carried new and used Kinze parts, KZValve components, Precision Planting products and Unverferth toolbars. Meridian built internal platforms to separate cargo groups and use the available volume without allowing the heavy assemblies to bear against the plastic parts. The equipment load weighed approximately 12 metric tons. Consolidating the mixed order into one container produced an estimated gross logistics saving of about $10,000. Meridian's responsibility ended in Chicago; the dealer controlled the onward shipment, and Meridian did not supervise final assembly.
